Talented Tenth District Ques make sure Metro Detroit students are prepared for the new school year.

On Sunday, August 25, 2019, the brothers of Tau Kappa Kappa Chapter, Southfield, MI provided free haircuts and school supplies to the young men of Southfield and Metro Detroit. Dozens of young men came in for free haircuts. The young men and their families were provided lunch while they waited for the cuts. The students were also provided backpacks, and other school supplies.

Ernest Everett Just (1883-1941) a pioneer during his day was born on this day in 1883. One of a handful of African American biological scientists, and one of the first African Americans to earn a PhD from the University of Chicago. As the Head of Physiology at Howard University Medical School, he was the first awardee of the NAACP’s highest honor, the Spingarn Medal in 1915, in recognition of his research in biology.
